Today's post is chock full of cats well except for live cats because sadly I am an aspiring cat lady who is well rather chatless. I've always loved cats ever since at the tender age of 7 I saw the film Kiki's Delivery Service if you haven't seen it please go and see it, it's one of my absolute favorites and it's appropriate for all audiences. In the film a young witch in training named Kiki must travel a year from home to hone one of her own special skills and prove she's ready to be an independent witch of her own. Kiki's trusty partner is none other than a sassy talking black cat named Jiji! I mean he literally stole my heart and so it's been my lifelong dream to have a little cat of my own to go on my own witchy adventures with. I mean just look at him what a darling!
So today's theme was cats actually this is my first feline themed clothing item and it all came about because my sister & I's very good friend Kyra (who is also a cat lady in waiting) gifted me this dress. She also lent me the cutest tights ever and the catastic brooch. Now you're probably wondering how come I have never owned a cat right? Well funny thing is everyone in my family is very very allergic to cats like not able to live comfortably. Which would be fine they could just have allergy shots except my Grandfather isn't a fan of cats at all. So dear reader it is with a heavy heart that must tell you in all my 20 years of living I have been devoid of a cat's company not that I haven't dreamed about it.
This is actually my more everyday look I always wear a simple put together outfit, some cute shoes and a hair accessory in my hair. The most make up I usually put on is a hint of mascara and a lipstick of some sort. It's not that I don't like make up and most girls look stunning with or without (seriously though how do you all get your eyeliner wings so perfect) but I'm a very low maintenance gal. I also tend as my family says to be "an old lady" in my dressing habits preferring modest length hemlines and necklines. I do try to dabble in other styles though because fashion to me is being brave enough to try things out of my comfort zone but always managing to stay true to myself and my personal preferences. So today's outfit was right in my alley a boat neck dress with a cute print, some cute accessories and a cozy cardigan. I could almost be heading out to a darling country club or on a date with my imaginary beau or even to tea with my gals you could say I could be doing all three!
