Hello there chickadees! It certainly has been awhile hasn't it? My apologies for my absence University is certainly kicking my butt but hopefully it'll all settle down now. I don't have today's outfit to post I had an exam so I left in a flurry but here's an outfit I wore Sunday before last. My sister & our friend and I went to a Pop up Vintage Fair. It was less dazzle dazzle than we thought but it was still a very fun adventure and the weather was so lovely.

We Can Do It!

So first and foremost Happy International Women's Day! I don't usually do themed outfits because they can be a bit "costumey" but I knew I had to do something for a day celebrating women of every shape, size, religion, ethnicity, color, preference and beliefs. There are many inspiring women who have lived and are living but I thought I'd channel my inner Rosie the Riveter today.

Yesterday my family and I spent the day at home relaxing but it was such beautiful weather we thought it would be such a waste to just stay indoors! We ended up going out to get an ice-cream cone and even took our dog Minnie to the doggy park for some socializing. I wore a very simple outfit but still very feminine and cute for the occasion and it was such nice weather even wearing black I wasn't hot at all. Sometimes you jut have to look cute even going to the park after all, Roger met Anita and Pongo met Perdita simply going out for a stroll to the seemingly eventless park.

This is actually Saturday's outfit sorry about the disappearing act I had midterms all week and even one on Saturday! Midterms are not fun actually exams in general aren't fun but somehow I managed to get them all done and now a much needed Spring Break is upon us! I know everyone's Spring Break happens at different times but for those of you on it any plans? Mine are of the very exciting sort. You know go home, wake up late, have your Mother feed and fawn over you and just veg out. I am constantly running to and fro on a daily basis that just having some down time will be really nice!

So today's outfit was hastily thrown together! I know what you're thinking you're kidding right? Well Mondays for me seem to as of late have become a fashion crisis sort of day. Sunday night I'll go to bed having picked out my outfit and be convinced I'll look wonderful but in the morning suddenly it looks completely wrong. I'll try on several outfits and still feel like a lumpy potato. Clothes will be draped over chairs, hasty slipped off and lumped onto the floor, or scattered over my bed. I'll be staring at myself in the mirror at this point and be about to just throw on a tank top and shorts and just call it a day. Then suddenly when all seems lost I'll see something, anything that will inspire me. Today I saw this ruffled blouse in my closet that sparked a whole new set of outfit ideas into life. I  tried on several outfits but nothing seemed to work and so I decided to do something a little different and make it dress up a polka dot dress instead of be the focal point of my outfit. (get it? dress up lol)

 Today's post is chock full of cats well except for live cats because sadly I am an aspiring cat lady who is well rather chatless. I've always loved cats ever since at the tender age of 7 I saw the film Kiki's Delivery Service if you haven't seen it please go and see it, it's one of my absolute favorites and it's appropriate for all audiences. In the film a young witch in training named Kiki must travel a year from home to hone one of her own special skills and prove she's ready to be an independent witch of her own. Kiki's trusty partner is none other than a sassy talking black cat named Jiji! I mean he literally stole my heart and so it's been my lifelong dream to have a little cat of my own to go on my own witchy adventures with. I mean just look at him what a darling!

I know what you are thinking dear reader, hey this post looks a bit different from your usual posts, right? That's right! I started this blog off mobile blogging because I didn't have fancy camera at the time (and still don't thanks sis for taking photos of me with your snazzy camera). Mobile blogging might for many seasoned bloggers seem crude and clumsy but we all have to start somewhere right? When you are on the go and you didn't lug your camera with you your phone will just have to do! Don't knock it until you try it mobiles these days have really nice photo taking capabilities you all know what I'm taking about selfie masters!

So what's better than polkadots? Well polkadots with a splash of color of course! There's no color quite like pink even hot pink, comes off as elegant and feminine instead of garish when used in small doses. This outfit was actually inspired by my dream job if my dream of being a pastry chef doesn't exactly pan out and that's being a flight attendant! Their crisp uniforms, expertly tied neck scarves, the way they always seem so poised and knowledgeable to me they are some of the most wonderful women in the work force. I usually am not a bright colors gal, I suppose it's because I'm more of a Betty than a Veronica but sometimes it's a little fun to pair an elegant ensemble (hair in a chignon, white blouse and black flats) with a fun colored pencil skirt.

 Everyone has a weakness for something for me it's sweets, cute things, flowers, foxes, lace, ruffles-okay I have a lot of weaknesses but one of my biggest weaknesses is Polkadots! There's nothing that calls me more than polkadots i mean they are so cheery and happy and they look good on everyone and don't even make anyone look fatter than they actually are (sorry stripes I love you but sometimes you can be quite unflattering). So today I decided to channel my inner dalmatian for a polkadot from head to toe look for fun. I think 101 dalmatians is one of the more under appreciated Disney movies but it's such a precious movie and the love stories of the owners and their dogs are really darling.

This dress has some of my favorite color combos soft pinks and yellows are right up my alley and black never goes out of style. I like this dress quite bit although it isn't in my usual style of dressing I'm a much more simple gal at heart really and the bust is a little lower than I'm used to. My sister however insisted I take it out for a spin and since she never steers me wrong in the ways of fashion I thought I'd take a card out of her book and dress up without being too dressed up.

I don' think there's a single girl in the world who didn't dream of being a ballerina when she was younger, or if she was a tomboy early on (don't worry I was a tomboy from third grade until 6th), who didn't have a dream they'd stay up late watching shows and documentaries on. I remember my favorite aunt took all of us girls with my Mother to see our very first ballet in a huge fancy theatre. I was about four or five at the time and I thought it was all very dull until the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy began. Then I couldn't sit far enough forward in my chair or take my eyes off the ballerina and her feet that didn't even seem to be touching the ground. After that I was hooked, I was devoted to ballet the way some children were devoted to building sandcastles or making castles out of macaroni and glue. I danced ballet with my sister's every day after school instead of lingering in the sand box with my classmates after school but I couldn't have been any happier.

Happy Valentine's Day Loves! I hope your day has been very sweet to you and if not dig into the icecream pint and watch those cringe worthy romantic movies because, you deserve it! Valentines Day is a beautiful holiday and whether you have anyone to celebrate with or not I hope you remember to take sometime to pamper yourself today. I usually make it a habit to wear pink on Valentine's Day but since my sister & her best friend gifted me this skirt I knew I had to wear it today.

Am I the only one who as soon as February rolls around starts listening to the crooners and their gold old love songs on loud? No? Well maybe it's just me but I love Valentine's Day! Everyone dresses up so nicely, all the cheesy movies start playing on the television and oh let's not forget the candy shall we? Today's outfit is something chic and comfy for a day of running errands and baking. It's my younger brothers birthday today so we'll be going out for dinner which explains the wedges and stylish blouse.

This is an outfit from Thursday! Sorry for my lack of posts I've finally kicked my cold to the curb but sadly as soon as I got that taken care of I was flooded with homework and exams to study for. That's the life of a college student! It's been chilly as of late which is just fine with me I love any excuse to wear a scarf. I've always loved mix and matching patterns and so I thought I'd pair some printed tights with a soft plaid scarf.

Why hello there! You thought I fell off the face of the blogosphere? Well fear not I may have fallen ill and may still be in the evil clutches of a nasty old cold but that doesn't mean I won't be blogging. In fact today I had enough energy to document my outfit (does this mean the end of my cold's reign of terror ? only time can tell). It's finally sun dress weather here or should I say it's sun dress weather until the chill or rain kicks in because that's Winter in good old Florida for you. Still it was a beautiful day so I wore a simple but fun outfit with some classic flats for an effortless look I could pull off, between all the nose blowing, and coughing I've been doing and tea drinking of course loads of tea.

Some people like to get their nails painted, or consume a whole pint of ice cream while binge watching their favorite season of Say Yes to The Dress on TLC, or hit the gym and burn off a few pounds to alleviate stress me I'm a cleaning gal. I love to clean, I love cleaning the way some people like to watch Hair tutorials on Youtube. My family often jokes I'm actually an old lady in a young person's body and I sometimes think they are right. I can't help it I'm a pearls and knitting over body con dresses and clubbing gal any day. So trying to partake in the Jenny January look with my sister I'm wearing a very Queenly skirt today. I'm a far cry from a Queen however and I don't think I could be half as ruthless as the Queen of Hearts but when it comes to cleaning, those dust bunnies better prepare themselves! Instead of going all Queen of hearts I went in a more retro House wife direction for today's outfit and it sure was a blast!

Today's title inspiration is none other than the fun skirt I'm wearing fun fact last evening was no color coordinating coincidence my sister & our friend Kyra all decided to match and wear Mary Blair print skirts with similar pleasing palettes to kick off Jenny Month (which they are avidly participating in) and in commemoration of my clandestine meeting with my friend Greta. see previous post Another fun fact is that yellow is secretly still one of my favorite colors as I used to loudly, and proudly proclaim as a child. I just haven't gotten around to incorporating it much n my wardrobe curse my feeble attempts to resist the charm of blow or neutral clothing. This year however is the year of change! I will be incorporating more yellows into my wardrobe fingers crossed on my hunt for the perfect mustard turtleneck.
